        The Facing Fears Intention

        Honesty · Courage · Light

For the man who knows the avoidance is costing more than the confrontation would. What facing it gives him. Where fear picks the timing. The work of moving before the excuse arrives.

        The Strength

        • Saying the thing you would rather not say
        • Closing avoidance loops while they are still small
        • A short list of regrets about things left undone
        • The kind of presence that comes from no longer hiding

        The Challenge

        • Calling the avoidance strategy a plan
        • Letting the fear pick the timing
        • Outsourcing the hard conversation to time
        • Letting comfort decide what is reasonable

        The Work

        • Name the fear out loud so it has somewhere to stand
        • Make the move before the rationalisation arrives
        • Trust that the cost of the wait is real
        • Find the light in the work as well as the result

        The Light

        Look at it. Then move.

Golden Obsidian is volcanic glass cooled too fast for crystals to form. Tiny gas bubbles trapped during that rapid cooling catch light and produce a soft golden lustre. Some of the oldest mirrors ever found are polished obsidian. The glass is what survived the fire. The gold inside is what the fire left behind.

Facing Fears is for the man who has decided the avoidance is more expensive than the look. It is the choice to keep looking after the relief of looking away has worn off. Keep looking after everyone else has moved on.

        The Daily Practice

        Turn toward it today.

Name the thing you keep turning away from. Write it down, then take one step toward it today, while it's still small enough to handle.

When you put this on each morning, ask yourself:

        • What am I postponing that gets harder the longer I wait?
        • What would I do this week if I treated the fear as information?
        • Whose opinion am I most afraid of, and what does that tell me?
        • What would I stop carrying if I dealt with this today?

The light is on the other side of the look.

Honest sight. Shows him what he has been avoiding, so he can face it while it's still small.

Volcanic glass, cooled too fast for crystals to form. Tiny inclusions catch the light as a golden sheen that appears only at the right angle. Associated with facing fears, self-reflection, and courage.

        Sterling Silver

Sterling silver, all the way through.

The clasp and findings are sterling silver through and through, so there is no plating to wear away. Like all real silver it can darken with time; a soft polishing cloth brings it straight back. Made to be worn daily, for years.

        About Facing Fears

What does the Facing Fears bracelet represent?

Facing Fears is for the man who knows the avoidance is costing more than the confrontation would. It represents the willingness to stay when leaving would feel like relief.

If you're not sure which Intention fits you, take the 60-second Intention quiz.

What stones are in the Facing Fears bracelet?

The Facing Fears bracelet is made with Golden Obsidian, Lava Stone and Pyrite, set with sterling silver hardware and stainless steel wire.

Golden Obsidian is volcanic glass with a distinctive golden lustre caused by tiny gas-bubble inclusions reflecting light.

How do I know if Facing Fears is the right Intention for me?

Choose Facing Fears if you have been calling avoidance a plan, if the hard conversation has sat too long, or if comfort has been deciding what counts as reasonable.

For a guided recommendation across all 24 Intentions, take the 60-second Intention quiz.

Can I wear the Facing Fears bracelet and necklace together?

Yes, they're made to be worn together. One stone, worn at the wrist and at the chest, keeps the thing you keep postponing in your eyeline.

How is Facing Fears different from Courage?

Facing Fears is the discipline of staying with what you would rather avoid. Courage is the decision to act on it. Both sit within the courage and confidence theme of the Intentions collection.

        Ordering & care

        What sizes are available?

Intention bracelets come in seven sizes from 18 cm to 24 cm, fitting wrists 15.5 cm to 22.5 cm. The 21 cm size is the most common choice. Measure your wrist with the size guide and add 2 cm for a standard fit or 3 cm for a relaxed fit.

How does it fasten, and will it stretch?

It closes with a Sterling Silver clasp. The beads are strung on flexible stainless steel wire, so it moves with your wrist but does not stretch or sag over time.

        Are the stones natural?

Every stone in an Intention is genuine natural stone. Variation in colour and pattern is part of it: no two pieces are identical. See the stone library for the meaning and formation of each one.

What are the clasp and findings made of?

Sterling Silver, with no plating or coating, so there is no surface layer to wear through. Like all real silver it can darken with time; a soft polishing cloth brings it straight back.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Most of what touches your skin is natural stone. The wire is coated stainless steel and almost entirely covered by the beads, so the main metal contact is the clasp and findings, which are Sterling Silver. If you have a known metal allergy, check these materials against it before ordering, or contact us and we'll send the full component list.

How should I care for my bracelet?

Remove your bracelet before swimming, showering, or heavy exercise to protect the stones and the wire. Store it flat when you're not wearing it. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.

See the care guide for stone-specific notes.

        How long does shipping take?

Each bracelet is made to order in Queensland, Australia. We aim to dispatch within 2 business days. Every piece is handmade after you order, so occasionally it can take a little longer.

During peak sale and holiday periods, allow up to 4 business days for your shipping confirmation. See the shipping policy for details.

Do you ship internationally? What does shipping cost?

Yes, we ship worldwide. In Australia, Standard shipping is free on orders over $119 (otherwise $10) and Express is free over $249 (otherwise $13). In the US, Standard shipping is free over US$99, with duties included. For every other country, shipping is calculated at checkout.

Can I return or exchange my bracelet?

You can return unworn bracelets in original condition within 30 days of delivery. You'll receive a credit note to use on another size or piece. We don't refund change of mind because each piece is made to order with natural stones, but we'll always work with you on sizing.

See the returns policy for full terms.

        What does it come with?

Every piece ships in a Mana for Men box with a card explaining its stones and the Intention behind them.

        Is it a good gift?

Yes. Every piece ships in a Mana for Men box with a card that explains its stones, so it arrives ready to give.

How do I wear it day to day?

Designed for daily wear. Wear it alone or layered with other pieces. Made for life, work, and the moments that call for focus.

Take it off before swimming, showering or heavy exercise.

        Is there a guarantee?

Yes. Every Intention is covered by our 12-month guarantee. If a piece fails under normal daily wear within 12 months, Mana for Men will repair or replace it.
